Money for a roof

Well, I got the latest batch of WIC vouchers, but WIC now recertifies every six months instead of once a year, so in three months we will probably be off WIC for making too much money, who cares how much we pay out in food and bills each month because we are stuck in a hell hole that wants to charge twice what they know we make in housing allowance just because they know they can because if we don't pay it we will be living on the street. Lucky for me, I found a place that charges half of what I get, so I use the rest to pay utilities. Oh, by the way, no one here includes ANY utilities in the rent, EVER. That 700+ a month rent is JUST rent, the 100+ elec and then gas and water and sewer and sometimes trash and everything else is out of your own pocket. Sometimes I wish the housing allowance was non public access information so that potential landlords couldn't raise the rent in military communities, or if you rent to military, you can only charge a specific amount and have to include utilities, that way, military personnel don't get taken advantage of while waiting for housing on post.
