Still on the prowl for a job, I got an application for a security job at the mall in Savannah, pays 9.50 an hour according to the guy I talked to that got me the application, but the drive will burn close to half a tank round trip... OUCH! Maybe I can find a public transportation or something out here, don't know yet. But I am still pushing along.
My house is still not unpacked, taking longer than I expected, but oh well. At least I got a roof to unpack under! I get at least a little done every day, but I really need to get it ALL done ASAP, I am sick of living surrounded by boxes. I also really want to get my office set up, with all my files and stuff properly in place. I am also considering buying one of those wall partitions for my home office, but that costs money, which I currently don't have a whole lot of. Actually, don't have ANY til I get my child support for July. Luckily, if I do need more, I can ask my ex for a little extra, if he has it, he will help me out. But I hate asking for more, I prefer to have a job, my own income, and be self reliant with just my standard child support. But since I have given him a HUGE break on child support for the last two years, I don't feel too bad, I just don't want it to be a continuing occurance. Only a rare occassion.
Eerrr, wish me luck, say some prayers, I really really want a job, any job that pays enough, as long as I am qualified, I am physically able, and the hours are when I can get childcare, I will take it! I am willing to take garabage man duty!

lol, that cracked me up.. then i started thinking about it. garbage duty (i've heard) pays a lot and has great benefits :) Somehow I can't see you doing that.
I think the ex definitely needs to bone up on the child support, particularly since you are the primary caregiver of the kids. I thought that was automatically garnished from his Army money?
Good luck with finding a job, hopefully you find one soon.
There is no child support order, we never went to court for anything except the divorce... NC assumes no child support and joint custody unless you file an additional motion - which means more court fees, attorney fees, etc. So the military can't make him pay something there is no court order for. And he does pay child support... it just isn't much. But he pays me the amount we agreed on, the joke amount, and when he has extra, he gives it to me. Like for Christmas, I told him I was broke, he sent me an extra $400 for presents. When I came to GA before he deployed, he paid for EVERYTHING for me and the kids, I only paid for stuff that I wanted for myself - and he even paid for some of that. And when I moved down here, he made sure that I had authorization to live in his goverment quarters while he is gone to save myself the cost of rent.
When he gets home, we are going to joint custody, so I might still get the joke amount from before, or it might drop to no child support since he will have the kids for 50% of the time and will also be paying for half the daycare and all that.
