Well, I have added another project to my list, not only am I selling Avon and getting the kids ready for another school year... which in this area starts somewhere around the FIRST WEEK OF AUGUST... NOT the LAST, like it usually was in the Chicago and Fort Bragg area... but now I am throwing Blue Star Mothers of America, Inc, into the mix.
The entire state of GA does not have a chapter for BSMA, so I have decided to start a chapter. They told me that before they can send me a start up information kit, I must have at least FIVE eligible MOTHERS - not associates, they help, but don't count. So I went and looked up the difference...
Blue Star Mothers
A Mother or Stepmother (since the child was of the age of 13) who has a son or daughter who is serving, or has been honorably discharged from the Armed Forces of the United States. Services included are the United States Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, National Guard, Reserve Units, and the Merchant Marines.
Blue Star Associates
A spouse, sister, brother, grandparent, aunt, uncle, cousin, or friend of someone who is serving, or has been honorably discharged from the Armed Forces of the United States. Services included are the United States Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, National Guard, Reserve Units, and the Merchant Marines.
Blue Star Dads (associate member)
Blue Star Dads is in the process or reorganization. Dads we need you!! Until Dads are reorganized they should apply as an associate member. We do have Blue Star Dad Pins.
