Well, today is the kids' second week of school, the first week that lil man goes to school all day. Last night I got their bags laid out, clothes set out for them AND me, and crashed out (sort of). My sinuses were stuffed up major league so bad that my head hurt like heck, so I didn't fall asleep for a while. Well, Saturday we had gone to the movie theater on post to see Wall-E, and I turned my ringer to vibrate... apparently I never took it off vibrate. I have my alarm set to go off at 0630 so that I have 45 minutes to get the kids dressed and fed, then head out at 0715 to give me time to deal with closed roads for PT and idiots as they are getting out of PT driving like no one else is on the road. Yea... JP wakes me up at 0740 asking if he can watch TV. What do I say? Get dressed first. Then I look at my cell phone and realize - IT DIDN'T GO OFF! So I am rushing around telling JP "NO TV, GET DRESSED AND GET YOUR SHOES ON, GET YOUR BACKPACK, GET YOUR TEDDY FOR SCHOOL!" (they are all supposed to take a teddy bear to school today for some reason). Arianna is STILL sound asleep, and she is usually the slow dresser in the morning... not today, mommy didn't wake her up by rubbing her back, mommy woke her up by standing in the doorway and yelling "GET UP, HURRY UP, GET DRESSED, WE ARE LATE!" I don't think that kid ever got dressed that fast! But we were out the door within 5 minutes, with Special K cereal bars for breakfast (I am sure the kids are already hungry again, but I don't want them to be late for school).
We get to the school, and the "Kiss and Go" lane is empty... no teachers to open the door or escort the kids to the gym. So I park and get them out. As we walk up to the school, students EN MASS are walking out of the gym... Arianna's teacher spots us and Arianna jumps in line and her teacher takes JP with her since his class is in the same hallway. We made it JUST in time! No trip to the office to get a late pass to class... and I STILL HATE MY CELL! Stupid phone!
