I am getting a dog

Yep, you heard me, we are getting a dog. I don't know when, it will all depend on how long it takes for me to make enough money to pay off our bills, but as soon as we are paid, we are getting a dog. I can't do this alone thing anymore. Everytime my husband has to work during the night, I am constantly hearing stuff outside (and our bikes have already been stolen TWICE, so who knows what is making the noise!), and I was having weekly nightmares about someone trying to break into my house, so that didn't help. I need a dog that can warn me when someone is actually outside, bite whatever a$$hole might try to break in, and keep me company and SANE when I am alone. Yea, that is going to make it fun when it comes to PCS moves and out of town trips, as well as the cost of rent when I live off post, but I guess that will just be all the more reason to make friends fast to take care of the dog when I am out of town!
