I finally got the carpet cleaned in the house, and it looks perfect. Even the guy doing the cleaning said he didn't see how the landlord could charge me anything for it. Now I just have to get blinds for the rooms since the kids absolutely demolished the blinds in their rooms and the living room. They just keep pulling on the slats for some reason. I am going to go this afternoon for the blinds, and then I am going to try to get the house turned over to the landlord in a day or two... if I feel like being nice. He keeps being a butt and talking smack to my neighbors about how he is going to lock up the house and turn off my electric if I don't turn it over to him by the end of this week, let's see him try. I am paid up til the 31st, does he REALLY want to go to court?? We will see. Right now I am enjoying the fact that I have washed all the walls, gotten the rug cleaned, and housing has come by and said that 99% of the stuff he is threatening to make me pay for as damages, is wear and tear, he tries to make me pay, I can take him to court to demand my security deposit back. I don't think he wants to go that route. I don't know why he decided to turn into a jerk the last few weeks. AARRRRR. Oh well. I am settled into the trailer for the most part, not getting too comfortable since it is not my home, waiting til I (crossing fingers here) get my orders for active duty and make THAT place my home.
I am actually hoping to be stationed at Campbell, not a garuntee, though. It is only six hours from Chicago, I can go see my family whenever I want to, it is only nine hours from Bragg, so George can see the kids pretty often when he wants to. And best of all, it is air assult.
I have been thinking for years that I would like to do that, but I never thought I had what it takes to finish it. Well, since everything happened, and I talked to friends who know a little bit about it, they all think that if I train up for it, really dedicated to making it, they think I would do just fine. And I like the idea of actually going air assult sometime in the next few years. I know it will take me a while before I will be ready for it, but one day, I know, I will be. And I intend to kick some butt when I do.
