Merry Christmas to my new family!

Well... it has been one crazy week. I am now married as of LAST Thursday, I am at my new in-laws house visiting with my mother-in-law, her boyfriend, my sisters-in-law, and my new stepdaughter. I was terrified that my stepdaughter would NOT be happy about having a new stepmother, either just because she doesn't want me as her stepmother, or because her mother might have bad mouthed me to her so bad that she would want NOTHING to do with me. We told her Christmas night, and I thought she was going to bounce off the ceiling! She has kept me within arm's reach almost all day today. Right now she is playing with some of her presents while my husband works on his sister's computer and the three of us gossip/BS while she plays.

I got to meet the boyfriend's family, and they made me feel so welcome, and I have gotten to try SO many new foods ("FIL" enjoys cooking and it seems so does his family). I had kieshe (that egg pie stuff), homemade lemonpoppyseed bread, homemade crumb cake, a momisoa drink (champagne mixed with orange juice) just for BRUNCH! Then I had braised pork roast with apple-ginger chutney, roasted fruit salad, pumpkin souffle, a sort of caramel Bailey's drink, a glass of red wine (got to try some new drinks, too! Neven been able to say I was buzzed before 2 pm before!), and that is just what I can remember! It has been an amazing holiday.

I also stopped in TN on my way up here Wednesday - I finally got to meet my biological mother for the first time in over twenty years - she was there visiting her dad, so I got to meet my grandpa as well. I am going to stop in OH on the way to visit my biological younger sister for the first time since she was about six weeks old. Best presents I could ever get I am getting this year.
