7 To Go

Seven days to go. Today was my last day at my unit, but, despite my intention to never set foot in that building again, I was bullied into going in tomorrow for a few minutes. It is Memorial Day weekend, so tomorrow is a DONSA (Day of Non-Scheduled Activity), also known as a training holiday, which means none - except for select personnel - of the military personnel will be reporting for duty tomorrow, however, the civilians don't get free days off (then again, they also don't work overtime for free, either), so they will be in tomorrow. Therefore, I was bullied by one of the civilains to come in one last time. They had an unusual weapon for the bullying, too... the not so subdle hint that there will be a surprise for me in the end. I have no clue what they are planning, but if they are that insistant - yes, I tried to say no, they insisted, then I can swing by for a quick visit, not like it will kill me, I AM going in civies, at least!

But, regardless of me going in for a visit, I am done at that unit. I have turned in my security badge, access card, laptop is being reimaged, my email account will be deleted tomorrow or Tuesday. I don't have the ability to work at that unit, even if I wanted to. I fly out next week, outprocess the Army, come home to get my apartment packed up and moved, and I am OUT OF HERE!!! YEA! One week and I will be out of this hell I have been living in for the last two years. Forget purgatory, straight hell!
