I hate spending money!

FOURTEEN DAYS AND COUNTING! Yes, I am seriously fighting short-timers disease... and failing miserably. Granted, there is no sense in starting a new project that I don't have time to finish, I got three days left, then I go TDY for two days, followed by two days of out processing the unit before a four day weekend followed by two days of TDY for outprocessing the military. The rest of the week, I will probably be pulling ID cards for all of the G-1 shifts... well, that is actually Wednesday morning and Thursday afternoon, thank god they adjusted the schedule so that G-1 has it one less shift, of course it kicks into full swing just as *I* am leaving! Buttheads! Oh, well.

Right now I am trying to get my apartment cleaned up enough that the movers can safely come in and pack, packing up as much of my stuff that will be going in my car as possible, planning to make some homemade saltwater taffy and make some homemade thank you cards for some special people at work before I leave, and getting ready to go away for two days on two seperate occassions! WOW! All this with two kids underfoot! Almost makes me tempted to pull another three days of leave this week, I got 30 days to sell... but I can always use the money, especially since I still have no job offer after my discharge... PRAY FOR ME!

Today was my transportation outbrief, my original dates I was hoping for are just too close and no movers are available, so I am taking advantage of the extra week to clean up and still have a bed to sleep in right before I hit the road, instead of sleeping on the floor. Too bad I am paying out the butt for a rental, as well, then paying for a U-Haul tow dolly to tow my car to GA to get it fixed, paying for a transmission recondition, and having to pay for the extra milage to get to GA instead of NC. Oh, I hate spending money!

Jackie,

Good luck as you prepare for your next adventure. Do you have a place down in GA yet? Are the kids exciting about moving and being close to their dad again? Anyway, it sounds as if you're going to be very busy in the next coming weeks, so good luck and try to keep us posted@

Yes, I have a place to stay when I get to GA... George already cleared it with the housing office for me to live in his goverment quarters while he is deployed... I also have other arrangements in place.
