Today I had my going away luncheon, it was amazing! I took leave yesterday and today, so I had no idea how many people were going to come, but the resturant had been told to prepare for twenty. Well, before we all started ordering our food, we did have to tell the wait staff that they may need to bring in another table... we had filled ALL the seats, and I think they had to bring in a couple extra chairs. All sorts of people from the unit came, I was so happy! I teased and said, I wonder how many are here for me, and how many are here for a party... the people sitting next to me laughed, then said BOTH! It was just so funny that so many people came, I didn't think that many would show, I didn't realize that many people cared. There were so many signatures on the one card that they had to get a second card for me. And then the Wal-Mart gift certificates and cash! It was amazing!
Too bad yesterday was not as full of good news. I took leave because my car is konking out on me, so I was taking it to the mechanic. Good thing I took the leave, though, because while I was getting ready to take the kids to daycare, JP got sick. Poor guy was not feeling good and threw up. So he stayed with me and we dropped Arianna off at daycare. We went to the mechanic, while he looked at the car, he sent us to the resturant down the block. JP got sick once while we were there, but we got to the bathroom fast enough. He ate his pancake, drank a little soda pop, and when we started walking back, he said he felt much better. He was still soooo very tired, and fell right to sleep in the car. Once we got home, he laid on the couch and watched tv til he fell asleep again, I moved him to his bed, and he slept til late afternoon. When I went to wake him up to go run a couple errands, he had just waken up and gone back to watch tv. He dozed in the car on the way to Wal-Mart and then actually wanted to ride in the cart while I shopped for a babyshower present. He didn't even sit up to help pick out the presents! He did eat his chicken nuggets for dinner with no problem, his tummy felt better, but he was still so tired. But he felt better enough to go back to daycare today.
The car is another story. My transmission is slipping, it is leaking fluid somewhere, and if I get it fixed here it will cost minimum $2100-$2700, maybe more, depending on how many gears have to be replaced versus using the old stuff. But, I called a shop down in Savannah, GA, and they said that they can do it for $1500-$1900, with the same maybe more depending on gears being replaced. So I am going to tow my car down to Georgia and get it fixed down there, and maybe borrow my ex's car for a couple weeks til I get it fixed. We will see. But as usual, I am tight on money. But at least I am outta here soon!
